LTJ Bukem @ Meadowlands 2012
LTJ Bukem Just who is LTJ Bukem? Ground breaking DJ? Inspirational musician? Record label entrepreneur? Club visionary, perhaps? When the man behind those wire rimmed glasses and that disarming smile writes his job description just what does he put? The man who took the drum and bass concept from a small venue off London’s Charing Cross Road to the nation’s superclubs and then onto the international stage? The geezer whose records launched breakbeat into a brand new galaxy of sound? Or maybe he just writes ‘Renaissance man for a digital age’. In truth LTJ Bukem is all of the above. Although he wouldn’t like to admit it, LTJ Bukem is the living embodiment of the post-acid house entrepreneurial creative spirit. He is a mild mannered energy flash whose panoramic musical vision has found success in every area he has explored. From running sound systems to cutting up breaks at raves, from relocating the heart of breakbeat culture to redefining the spirit of drum and
bass, the man known to his friends as Danny has sat at the forefront of breakbeat evolution, lighting the way with little more than a zest for life and a love of music. In other words, LTJ Bukem is a man on a mission!

Catholic Discipline will be hosting their own psychedelic circus, the infamous Cosmic Trigger Club at Meadowlands 2012. A space rock, psychedelic, hip hop, electronica, TV score, disco, pop freak-out that will have you wanting to stay partying until the sun comes up…
Catholic Discipline are a DJ duo of Dame Judi Hench and Psychedelia Derbyshire. They formed in the summer of 2010, when PD asked for a guest DJ to help out on a night and DJH turned up with bag of tunes and the two musical spacemen realised that they had a desire to play nothing but smart music to and for interested/interesting people… Starting Catholic Discipline in 2011, occasionally they are joined by various comrades in sonic arms. Expect a genre skipping, mind melting sonic journey, expect go-go dancing DJs, dress up and fake blood, but mostly, expect to dance.

FRIDAY 1ST JUNE
Banks is the multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer Alex Banks, recently signed to Ninja Tune. Growing up in the quiet Buckinghamshire countryside, he began playing Guitar, Drums and Piano aged 10 and quickly realised he would be devoting the rest of life to making music.
Whilst knocking out occasional advert compositions for the likes of Sony, Adidas and Xbox as well as major music publishing houses to pay the bills, he began work on developing his own unique sound fusing lush soulful strings and ethereal vocals with epic soundscapes, filthy driving beats and ground shaking bass, creating a fresh approach to production that sounded both cutting edge and timeless. He has remixed the likes of Bonobo, Husky Rescue and long time influences Lamb and is currently working on a new single due for release on Ninja Tune in the late summer of 2012.
